Another Batman Day is behind us, and it was easily the most successful one we’ve hosted. The key metric today was 300% more transactions than an average Saturday, mostly via $5-10 purchases. Best of all, we saw LOTS of new faces, signed up some subscribers and made a lot of people happy.
Kevin was an absolute rock star, in character working the crowd outside the shop. Posing for photos and speaking in a gruff voice, the kids loved him, even if they were a bit scared of him, too.
Shot a quick promo video for social media before we opened the doors, which was a bit earlier than normal, as we had people waiting!
The new Rafael Grampá book was a hit and sold strong. Some took advantage of the half off Batman single issue sale to pick up keys like Damian’s first appearance (Batman #655) and the ENTIRE Scott Snyder run (congrats Jason!), but we also moved lots of collected editions and plenty of non-Bat items, too.
Tomorrow is our first-ever graphic novel swap. Customers are driving in from out of town and we’re expecting a solid contingent of new college students. Looking forward to another good day in the ol’ comic shop!
