Each week we produce a short (less than one minute) video called “New Comics for the Week of [insert date here].” I started recording these videos during the pandemic, as a way for at-home customers to feel like they are standing in front of the new release wall, scanning for a cover to catch their attention.
Now, the Tuesday night closing employee (usually Liz) sets the wall and sends me a video. I then score it, add some graphics or effects, and through it up on our social media channels, especially Tiktok and Youtube (as a short).
The point here isn’t to get a ton of views or start conversations, although that does happen sometimes. Instead, it’s to garner excitement and sales.
