Shipping raw comics, especially expensive books, can be nerve wracking. Over the last few years I’ve tried lots of options. I’ve recently settled on a simple, off the shelf routine that is easy to replicate on your own. You will need:
An appropriately-sized protective comic bag and board
An appropriately-sized rigid top loader
A Gemini-style comic mailer
A Gemini-style gradec comic mailer
Funny stickers and a bit of packing tape (optional)
It’s a Russian nesting doll - raw comic into archival bag and board, bag into the top loader, top loader into the smaller mailer and smaller mailer into the larger mailer.
The video walks you through the steps in just a couple of minutes. I’ve found this process to be stress free and easy to accomplish with ready made materials.
Of course, we don’t do this to all back issues. But for those that sell for hundreds, or even thousands of dollars, this is what you can expect.
