I’ll be honest - I probably never need to visit Midtown Comics in Times Square ever again. It’s a good shop. A bit of a hassle to get in and move around. Sometimes you see some cool stuff. But it doesn’t have the personality of “mom and pop” shops. I do appreciate its consistency and its place in the market. It takes a lot of work to get that big in comics. So they’re obviously doing lots of things right.
While I’ll probably never trudge up that narrow staircase downtown again, I’ve always wanted to visit their outlet. And I’m glad I made the trip out to dig through the bins and find some unexpected surprises.
