Last weekend was the inaugural Superstar Comic Con (formerly Savannah Comic Con, a saga that is not worth retelling here). We used a new booth set up and changed our strategy from sales to outreach, getting over 500 of our quarterly newspapers into the hands of new friends, many of whom were dressed like they’d just visited Cece’s boutique in Tears of the Kingdom.
Gumpool was back and a big hit with dozens of photos taken as he read our newsletter, mostly in silence. Claudia was a HUGE help with customers and Kevin, Fletcher and Anya helped with setup and breakdown.
Like any con experience, there were highs and lows but we experienced more positives than negatives and again, met our goal with meeting new locals and encouraging them to visit our shop. Lee got to chat with several guests including comic legends like Jim Shooter, Dan Didio, Robert Venditti and Tom DeFalco.
Here are a few of our favorite pics from the weekend:
Jayda at WJCL interviewed Lee as a local vendor. The official video doesn’t appear to be online, so here’s a shaky phone video snagged by Lee’s mom :).
Now we’re on to the next big thing, getting the Clubhouse ready to open…
