Why is Chip Zdarsky So Smart?
We don't know, but we're stealing from him.
Chip Zdarsky is a comics writer and illustrator, probably best known for his work on Batman and Daredevil (but you should definitely check out Public Domain). He recently started his own magazine - Zdarsky Comic News. It’s a 4-page, comic trim flyer that features interviews with fellow creators (including himself) and highlights his own upcoming releases (and those he just enjoys reading). It’s only available in print at comic shops. You can see pics and learn more over here at HIS Substack.
This is brilliant. Nothing is going to make comic shops love you more than giving them an exclusive item. We put these little mags in customer bags, mail-order boxes and as giveaways by the front door. They’re funny, well designed and thoughtful. We even made shelf-talkers for the books he recommends.
